Product description

The Epson DX4 print head is the most widely used print head in wide format printers. The DX4 head is perfectly suited for either eco-solvent, mid-solvent, UV and water-based printers. It is therefore mainly used in most Roland ®, Mimaki ® and Mutoh ® solvent and mild solvent based printers.

Epson DX4 specifications

All Epson ® DX4 print heads sold by Large Format Printer Parts are genuine with original ID / head rank. The ID is located on the print head manifold and on the self-adhesive label. Depending on the printer brand, the printer manufacturer requires to enter either 19, 33 or 51 digits. Contact our technical team if you need any free assistance.

The head rank/ID setting is determined by the print head manufacturer. It is a fine tuning of the voltage setting to account for variations in the characteristics of the print head nozzles. When you enter the head rank numbers in your printer, you are telling the printer what voltage needs to be set for that particular head. The voltage of the print head will be the same regardless of which printer it is going in, Roland, Mimaki, Epson, etc. The head rank is different on every print head, as each head has slightly different characteristics. Consequently, a print head purchased from a Roland dealer could be used in a Mimaki.

This fourth generation of Micro-piezo has a typical firing frequency of 8 kHz and minimum droplet size of 3,5 pico litre. DX4 print head has a native resolution of 360 dpi with 2 independent ink channels of 180 nozzles per line.

Epson DX4 printhead recovery

Unfortunately, Epson heads are extremely sensitive and they can hardly handle variation of pressure and recovery fluids. As per our quality standards we do not offer cleaning service for Epson heads.

Even though you can find many print head recovery systems available on the market, these affordable products may lead to very disappointing results. We furthermore strongly discourage the use of ultrasound devices as it may damage the print head and electronics.
