Selecting the Right Tube Material for Your Ink Type

The material of the tubes that you should use in your wide format printer will depend on the type of ink that you are using. Here are a few considerations to keep in mind:

Solvent-based ink
If you are using solvent-based ink, you should use tubes that are made of a material that is resistant to solvents. Common materials include polyurethane, polyethylene, and fluoropolymers such as PTFE and FEP.

UV-curable ink
If you are using UV-curable ink, you should use tubes that are made of a material that is resistant to UV light. Common materials include fluoropolymers such as PTFE and FEP, as well as some types of polyolefins and polyamides.

Water-based ink
If you are using water-based ink, you should use tubes that are made of a material that is resistant to water. Common materials include PVC, polyurethane, and some types of fluoropolymers such as FEP.
